Read. Reflect. Connect.

Bookish Bliss

Welcome to Bookish Bliss, a space where stories come to life, ideas spark meaningful conversations, and friendships grow through the love of reading. This isn’t just a book club—it’s a place to dive deep into thought-provoking books, share perspectives, and discover new favorites together.

We meet monthly on third Saturdays from 3:00-5:00 PM at a Cobb County library branch, with everyone getting a chance to host if they’d like. Whether you love contemporary fiction, self-help, fantasy, romance, or memoirs, there’s always a great book waiting for you here.

Come for the books, stay for the conversations, and leave with a community of fellow book lovers who inspire and challenge you.

Additional Details
  • Book selections should be appropriate for Christian teens ages 14-17, keeping in mind that this is a high school group. While we prioritize books that align with our values, we also recognize that meaningful stories often explore real-life challenges, complex themes, and difficult circumstances. The goal is to choose books that are thought-provoking, engaging, and age-appropriate—offering depth without being overly graphic or unnecessarily mature.
  • While classic literature is welcome for occasional discussion, the primary focus will be on contemporary books.
  • Page limit: 400 pages (unless the group collectively votes to make an exception).
  • Leadership opportunities: Every teen is encouraged to lead one or more meetings, but participation in leading is completely optional.
Meeting Format

Each Bookish Bliss meeting follows a relaxed yet engaging format that allows for great conversation, fun, and meaningful connections.

  1. Welcome & Snacks – Grab a snack, settle in, and share life updates or participate in a fun icebreaker to get the conversation flowing.
  2. Rate the Book – Everyone shares their rating for the book and explains why they gave it that score.
  3. Author Insight – If an author interview is available, we’ll watch a short clip to gain additional perspective on the book.
  4. Favorite & Least Favorite Parts – Discuss the moments that stood out, whether they were the best, the worst, or the most surprising.
  5. Discussion Questions – The teen who selected the book leads the group through 3-5 prepared discussion questions to dive deeper into themes and characters.
  6. Next Book Selection – The group votes on the next read and decides who will lead the upcoming discussion.
  7. Free Time to Socialize – Stick around to chat, work on handicrafts (for those participating in Handicrafts Haven), or just enjoy each other’s company.
